Our daily activities all contribute to our carbon footprint, whether it’s through the cars we drive, the food we consume, or the clothes we wear. As a business, it’s clear that we must become more mindful of the actions that contribute to greenhouse gas emissions. Simple changes, like encouraging employees to use rideshare-to-work programs instead of driving alone or recycling office paper, can help make a meaningful difference. In pursuit of our global goal to achieve net-zero emissions by 2030, we are integrating ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles into every aspect of our operations and services. Recently, we evaluated our carbon footprint using the ‘Greenhouse Gas Protocol,’ which classifies emissions into three categories: Scope 1, which covers direct emissions from owned or controlled sources; Scope 2, which refers to indirect emissions from purchased electricity generation; and Scope 3, which encompasses all other indirect emissions throughout the company’s value chain.
Our assessment identified that we emitted a total of 60 tons of CO2 equivalent in 2024, and the results indicated that two main areas (business travel and employee commuting) made up 70% of our emissions. This data allows us to focus on the key areas that truly matter, rather than falling into the common pitfall of merely reducing waste or upgrading to energy-efficient systems, both positive steps, but not enough to significantly reduce our footprint. For instance, we’re now implementing strategies to cut down on business travel, carefully considering our equipment procurement, and encouraging employees to carpool and avoid unnecessary commuting, directly addressing the two key areas where we can make the greatest impact.
ENVOCARE can assist you with calculating your greenhouse gas emissions, reducing your business carbon footprint and the sustainability of your business.
ENVOCARE implements complex projects from concept to delivery and operation because of the good working relationships it has with its clients
